KLEO: Brand Identity

Kleo is an organic skincare brand. Their skincare is clean, effective, and toxins-free since they are made with natural and organic components.

The aim is to design a brand identity for KLEO that is vibrant, reflects its values, and is also modern. As they are a startup, they require Instagram social media templates that follow brand guidelines in order to be consistent.

The Design Process:





Research and Strategy:

Before diving into the design, I conducted market research to understand the positioning of Kleo in the skincare industry and identify a unique visual strategy that could set them apart from competitors and came up with a mood board.








​Sketching and Ideation:

Using the client's keywords as a starting point, initial sketches and mock-ups were created. Geometric shapes were explored as they symbolize modernity and precision, which align with the brand's ethos



Color Pallete:

For Kleo Skincare, the chosen color palette consists of muted tones of purple, pink, and green. Each color was selected to reflect different facets of the brand's personality.





  • Muted Purple: Conveys sophistication and calmness, setting the brand apart in the skincare market.

  • Muted Pink: Evokes softness and elegance, aligning with the skincare industry's focus on care.

  • Muted Green: Represents natural ingredients and complements the other colors.

  • Gradient Usage: The gradient adds a modern touch, combining all three colors for visual interest and brand flexibility.



Typography:


  • Primary Font: Andine: Andine was chosen for its elegant and clean lines, providing readability while reflecting the brand’s focus on sophistication.

  • Secondary Font: Poppins Regular: Used for subheadings and body text, Poppins complements Andine with its modern, geometric shape, resonating with the brand's aesthetic.

  • Supporting Font: Okta Nue: Selected for its versatility, Okta Nue works well for small text and digital platforms, ensuring brand consistency across various media



Brand Assets:



Pattern one: The 'Kleo' logo is made out of a simple collection of shapes that form the letters These shapes, when put into a random order, are also used to create the elegant ‘Kleo’ pattern one



Pattern Two: The 'Kleo' primary logo is repeated to create pattern two spanning the variations of the brand’s color palette
